Chemo Limbo

I'm feeling okay but not up for much in the way of blogging right now. Here's something from yesterday, debriefing after a conversation with my oncologist. Sorry about the poor quality, technical difficulties. More tomorrow, I hope.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts so openly with so many. I am hoping you are feeling at peace with whatever decision(s) you may have made around chemo. You are so right: in medicine there are often times no definitive answers, hence the term "practice." Easy to type those words but with one's life hanging in the balance it is almost beyond comprehension to take in that, in the end no one knows exactly.

Thinking of you, post when you can.

It is very sad to watch such indecision and confusion on your face. It also sounds like you have a lack of trust in your physicians advice and options. Chemotherapy is the hardest thing you will ever do...I know and have been there. But not being comfortable with the decision you made to go forth with this treatment, may be the answer you are looking for. No matter what studies or statistics are given to you, you will always ask but what if? We all ask that! but then we trust the experts to know what they are doing and realize that yes, five years down the road the treatment may be different, but right now you either need to trust what they know is best for us, or stop. I wish you peace in your decision.

Amy Thank You for giving us a 'look' at some of what you are grappling with. Bravo for educating yourself and taking charge of your situation as best as possible. I have not been in your shoes however I have asked myself many times over what if? Wishing you comfort and peace in what ever decisions you make.
