My New Hero. Period.

Two Short Updates:

1. I've just stumbled on Katha Pollitt, columnist for The Nation, and she is my new hero. I can't wait to read her books. She's smart and hilarious and she tells it like it is.

2. It's official. I have my period. Miscarriage #2 is officially old news. Now begins the monthly "Am I? Am I not?" daisy-petal briggade. Tune in next cycle as this zany adventure in fertility (pun not intended, but subliminally appropriate?) continues.

Hello dearheart!! I managed to figure this out and get on to talk to you. And so...you got your period. Sorry honey. I also have mine but unfortunatley I'm disappointed for a diffrent reason. Was suppose to meet "the affair" tomorrow night. Oh well. Morals? maybe i have none. How did you stumble upon this Katha Pollitt person (who now by the way, I will also read her books)?
thinking of you and hope you are well. You are a very eloquent writer.xx Nancy

Katha Pollitt is the judge of a nonfiction writing contest I was considering entering. I decided to do a little research on her, to see if maybe what I write would fit her sensibility. And then I spent the afternoon reading her writing for The Nation.

Whether or not I enter the contest at this point has more to do with the deadline than anything else. Doubt I'll make it.
