The test I did last night was faint, but that second line was definitely there, and definitely pink. If there was any question then, there isn't anymore. This morning's test:
I've been lurking here for a while, and feel like I've gotten to know you...I swear, when I got that post last night, I got goosebumps and teared up. I'm so happy for you!
And yet another lurker delurking to add to the hoopola! I was coming to read if you had elaborated on your hints at your decision regarding a baby and lo and behold, there is the baby, on its way! As a very ambivalent parent before the first, and an equally torn and ambivalent parent before the second, I totally identified with your constant questioning over what you truly wanted regarding children. I too swung back and forth between really wanting them, and really wanting all the freedom and independence and flexibility of a life without kids. Still do by gosh! I hope your pregnancy is fabulous- even if that includes lots of feelings of ambivalence or panic over the future- because having kids is freakin scary after all! Please keep posting regularly so we know how things are going for you.
As far as the ambivalence you've mentioned in the past: IMHO anyone who isn't at least somewhat ambivalent about becoming a parent isn't being realistic. As far as timing in life goes (like you were talking about in a previous post), I don't think there ever really is a truly ideal time to have a baby -- any time will have its challenges and rewards. Congrats!
I just found your blog and read most of it. Congratulations!! I can only hope that everything works out for you!!
It took 3 1/2 years for my DH and I to concieve... it only happened when I decided that I didn't want children at that particular time. Seems the same happened for you. I hope yours is as wonderful as mine has been!
OMG Congratulations!!!! I had been slacking in reading my usual list of blogs this week, so I am just catching up tonight. I am so excited for you. This is awesome!
So, have you gone to the Dr. yet??? I am so excited for you. I was so excited when I found out. I understand the whole step mom bring the new kid in. Let me know if you need anything.
